**Who is Spark*?**

Spark* is an international not for profit organisation who believes that the most responses to poverty and disadvantage come when local changemakers stand up with local solutions. We exist to find these changemakers and enable their local efforts.

What is the Changemakers Program?

Spark* Changemakers do the following:

Receive world class training at a four day Changemakers Summit near Johannesburg where they discover the concepts and the confidence that they need to create local change.
Join with other incredible changemakers globally through the Changemakers Network.
Have the opportunity to either expand or make their local projects for change a reality through the Changemakers Fund.

What happens at the summit?

The summit will be at the African Leadership Academy in Honeydew (45 minutes outside of Johannesburg) from the 6th - 9th March 2012. You will be exposed to powerful concepts relevant to development, humanitarian work and social enterprise. The goal of the summit is to give you the tools and the confidence that you need to create change in your community. Those that attend the conference also join the Spark* Changemakers Network allowing you to interact with changemakers throughout South Africa and globally.

Should I apply?

We are looking for leaders who are passionate to see change in their communities. If that is you, then yes, but you should submit the best application you can. Spark* selects only the best emerging leaders in South Africa and on average only one in five applicants are successful in being selected.

How much does it cost to attend?

The program fees are subsidised entirely by donors.

What if I don’t live in the Johannesburg area?

There are limited travel grants available for people to attend the summit. We also encourage you to look for sponsorship to cover your travel costs.
